Tech Medical Group is the distributor of Medtronic products in the Spinal and Biological Division in Puerto Rico. A large number of the products marketed by Tech Medical are manufactured in Humacao, Puerto Rico. These products are used on a daily basis in patients who require spinal surgery, whether due to degenerative diseases, trauma or other conditions.
Biological Products
Tech Medical Group has a wide variety of high-quality biological products. These products are used in both spinal surgeries and general orthopaedics, oral and maxillofacial procedures.
Intraoperative Neuromonitoring
Intraoperative Neuromonitoring is an analysis of the patient’s nervous system during surgery. It is performed by electrophysiological methods such as electroencelography, electromyography, and evoked potentials to monitor the integrity of neural structures such as nerves and spinal cord. This technique is considered a “standard of care,” especially for spinal surgeries. During this type of procedure, neuromonitoring is used as a tool for early detection of possible damage, as it is a continuous study during surgery, allowing changes in signals to be identified and immediate corrective action to be taken. In this way, it is intended to preserve the structures of the nervous system by reducing and/or preventing any permanent damage to them. In addition to spinal surgeries, this service can be used in thyroid and brain surgeries, among others.
